Applications being accepted for Diaconate Formation Fall 2026
Sometimes God’s call is quiet—and persistent. If you know someone who has a love for the Church, a heart for service, and a desire to walk with God’s people, the Permanent Diaconate may be a call worth exploring. Formation for a new class begins Fall 2026, and applications will be accepted until March 2026.

Family Assignments - Deacons
UPDATE January 20, 2026 As we move forward with assignments, we will begin targeting July 1st of each year as the new assignment date. If you are interested in a new assignment in a family or with a ministry of charity, please reach out to me. As some changes are coming to families, there may be openings available. The Josephinum Diaconate Institute of the Pontifical College
Josephinum offers educational programs through distance learning – in both English and Spanish – to diaconal aspirants and candidates, permanent deacons and their spouses, and lay ministers serving or preparing to serve the people of God through ministry in the Church. Its mission is to strengthen pre- and post-ordination diaconate formation nationally and worldwide. |
